Meet our team
The people behind Home of Friends
Home of Friends is built by the people you meet here every day.
The smile behind your morning coffee.
The guide sharing stories on a village trail.
The guard opening the gate after a late arrival.
Each team member brings their own personality, strengths and life story to Kapchorwa. Together, we try to create a Guesthouse that feels warm, grounded and genuinely connected to the surrounding Communities.
Feel welcome to laugh, learn and share daily life with us🤗

Community guides & storytellers
Our guides are more than trail leaders. Many grew up in the villages, hills and farming communities surrounding Mount Elgon.
Through walks, conversations and shared experiences, they help visitors better understand daily life, traditions and the changing realities of the region.
We look forward to welcoming you - and sharing a bit of daily life here on Mount Elgon.🤗

Growing up on the foothills of Mount Elgon, Becky feels deeply connected to her land, traditions and coffee culture.
She enjoys sharing the journey of coffee, from harvesting and roasting to the stories that emerge while drinking it together. Through guiding, she hopes to inspire more women to step confidently into visible roles within tourism and their communities.
One of her favorite parts of hosting guests is seeing how simple moments of laughter and cultural exchange can bring people together.
Rommy Chebet - Nature guide

His dream is to showcase the beauty and culture of his motherland Sebei to the world.
More than a guesthouse
Over the years, Home of Friends has gradually grown into a place where hospitality, outdoor adventure and Community initiatives come together.
Together with guides, storytellers, farmers, athletes and local families, we continue exploring how tourism can create meaningful encounters and positive local opportunities - while staying grounded in the rhythm and realities of daily life on Mount Elgon.
We look forward to welcoming you🤗
