From our Guesthouse it is a 22km to the start of the hike. We can arrange your transport. A boda boda costs approximately 12000USh / $3,50* per person way and back

More about Sipi 1, 2 & 3
Sipi 3 is the largest waterfall and can be viewed from the lodges Rafiki Lodge, Casa Lodge and Lacam Lodge. It takes a 20 minutes walk to the bottom of the fall and 25 minutes back up. Sipi 2 is a smaller waterfall, and is special because you can go behind it. Sipi 1 is located on the upper side of Sipi Community and a walk to this waterfall takes you through the local village and banana plantations. Most people choose to visit the first three waterfalls during a three to four hour walk.

Most people don’t know that Mount Elgon is home to many more spectacular waterfalls. At Home of Friends we organise hikes to the waterfalls of Kapchorwa Town (at a 1 hour walk), Atar-Kshek (at a 1,5 hour walk), Tawut (at a 2,5 hour walk or 45 minutes drive) and Benet (at a 3,5 hour walk). Price for a guided tour to these waterfalls ranges between 10 and 25 dollar per person, depending on distance and duration.
